Here’s what’s in the box:
Value, according to Beauty Bar page:
|Borghese Tono Body Cream||1 oz (28 g)||$ 4.35|
|Sisley Hydra Global||0.14 oz (4 ml)||$ 25.00|
|vbeauté Eye Never Nourishing Eye Cream||0.033 fl oz (1 ml)||$ 5.67|
|Vincent Longo Duo Lip Pencil||0.064 oz (1.81 g)||$ 26|
|Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint||0.17 fl oz (5 ml)||$ 3.80|
Total: $ 64.82
That’s undeniably a pretty good value.
There’s always the issue of the actual value, based on the price for the full size product, and the perceived value. Sure, the Sisley cream is valued at $25 for the little sample, but if you’d ask me personally, I could have done without. I know I will never shell out $250 for a cream and a quick research of the product’s ingredients do not impress me either.
On the other hand, I a really impressed with the Vincent Longo Lip Pencil. The colors are really lovely, the pencil is creamy yet has some staying power. I like.
I think I will stick with Sample Society a bit longer. In my book, though, Birchbox is still my number one. Their perks program along with their generally very good consideration of my beauty profile makes them unbeatable.
Have you tried any of the products in this month’s Sample Society Box?
If you’re not familiar with Sample Society or Birchbox:
Sample Society and Birchbox are monthly sampling programs; one month of the Sample Society box costs $15, one month of Birchbox costs $10 – each including shipping.
Sample Society issues a coupon code for $15 off a $50 purchase. Birchbox has a very attractive feedback / reward program with which you can shop on their site.
Since I have received questions about the programs, I think will make separate, more detailed post about them and eventually link to it in a FAQ section.
